The American media company U.S. News World Report has published an updated Best Global Universities ranking. The Physics section of the ranking includes 750 of the world's strongest universities and 20 Russian universities. The Tomsk State Pedagogical University is the only pedagogical university .

The Championship of the Tomsk region in art fencing was held. Daniil Vasilyuk, a master's student of psychology and special education at Tomsk State Pedagogical University, won and took prizes in two categories.

The Tomsk State Pedagogical University improved its position in the international multidimensional ranking of universities "U-Multirank", which is carried out by the European Center for Higher Education Development together with the German Research Center of Higher Education.

The most large-scale festival of sports, creativity, and tourism, which every year unites faculties and institutes of the Tomsk State Pedagogical University — Festival "Startus" - takes place on September 24-26. The first season of the project took place 20 years ago, since then "Startus" remains a favorite event for students.
The year 2021 is unique for "Startus" not only because of the anniversary, but also because of the changes in the structure of the teams: not only sophomores came to the festival, but also third-year students, who were deprived of the long-awaited event last year by the pandemic. At the Tomsk State Pedagogical University's Sport and Health Complex, the regional stage of the Association of student basketball (ASB) 3x3 championship was held. The TSPU's women's basketball team outplayed its opponents to become the best in Tomsk Oblast.
This tournament is the only street basketball competition among students in Russia. In this way, the ASB 3x3 basketball helps to form the street culture of students. The difference in street basketball is the number of players — teams consist of three players and one substitute. Usually, the tournament is held on street courts, responding to the specifics of the sport, but the decision was made to hold the event at the TSPU's sports complex.
In Crimea, the largest-scale festival for creative and creative youth "Tavrida.Art" was held, which brought together more than five thousand talented artists, screenwriters, dancers, singers, filmmakers, and everyone who was involved in art. Among them are our students: finalist and winner of the competitions of the Presidential platform "Russia — the country of opportunities" Artem Astrakhantsev and Alexandra Solovyova.
For several days the Black Sea coast was divided into thematic creativity spaces. The program of the Festival included hundreds of different events - workshops, quests, presentations and casting for interesting television projects.
